Instrumentation

n  Superconducting Transition Edge sensor (TES) bolometer technology

n  Superconducting Quantum Interference Dev (SQUID) multiplexer technology for TES read out

n  Development of a broadband (4 GHz) multichannel radiometer, operating at 22 GHz, for the BIMA mm interferometer incl. hardware programming, data acquisition and analysis.

n  Development and support of Acousto Optical Spectrometers (AOS)

n  Development of an impedance matching structure for HF modulation of optical laser diode

Software

n  Software development for surface correction of radio telescopes telescope by means of phase retrieval holography

n  Developed telluric line shape modeling software

Astrophysics

n  Interferometric mm-wavelength molecular line studies of quasars, galaxy clusters, and galactic sources

n  cm through near IR spectroscopic and continuum observations of the Galactic center region and high-z Galaxies.

n  Galactic and extragalactic observations of interstellar neutral carbon

n  Science/technical team member of NASA/DLR SOFIA airborne observatory’s instruments SAFIRE and HAWC

n  P.I. 2mm camera (GISMO) for the IRAM 30m telescope

n  Science Team member in the NASA far-infrared all sky survey project SIRCE

n  Science Team member on the Boeing/SVS lead architecture study for the Terrestrial Planet Finder (TPF)

n  Three trips to the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station for deployment of the AST/RO telescope
